Bartlett Cycleway, Nelson Bay, New South Wales 2315
Only a short distance from Nelson Bay lies the stunning Bagnalls Beach. With its pristine sand and crystal clear water, the beach is perfect for walking the dog or letting it run off the leash. It even provides doggy bags. The coastal water also offers another attraction which is the underwater seagrass meadow. Seagrass plays an important role in the local ecology of Bagnalls Beach as it provides protection for many different species of fish which inhabit the coastal waters. Bagnalls Beach provides visitors with wondrous views from Sandy Point in Port Stephens to Fly Point Park, Nelson Bay. As well as being a popular place to witness the early morning sunrises, dusk time provides the opportunity for visitors to marvel at the gliding swans which come to feed on the seagrass.
